Tk 2,05,144cr ADP approved for FY 2020-21

The National Economic Council (NEC) has given final approval to the Annual Development Programme (ADP) worth Tk 2,05,144 crore for the next fiscal year 2020-21.

The approval was given at a virtual NEC meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday.

For the first time in the history of the country, the meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC) was held virtually. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from Ganabhaban and ministers-secretaries from the NEC conference room in the capital's Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area joined the meeting through videoconference at 11am.

Earlier on May 12, an extended meeting of the Planning Commission was held under the chairmanship of Planning Minister MA Mannan to finalise the draft ADP for the fiscal year 2020-21.

The mega projects that are of special importance in this year's ADP are: Padma Bridge, Metrorail, Padma Bridge Railway Connection, Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant, Matarabari Power Plant, Paira Deep Seaport and construction of single line dual gauge track from Dohazari to Cox's Bazar via Ramu and from Ramu to Gundum near Myanmar.
