Global Covid-19 death toll reaches 345,059

Global deaths from the novel coronavirus infection reached 345,059 as of Monday morning, according to the data provided by Johns Hopkins University. 

So far, 5,407,613 cases have been confirmed around the world after Covid-19, the disease caused by the new strain of coronavirus, was first reported in China in December last year. 

Although cases of new infection keep growing among the infected world population currently, most of them are in mild condition. 

Among the currently 2,849,888 infected patients, 2,796,665 are in mild condition, which is 98 percent, Worldometer records in its daily updates. On the other hand, 53,223 of the currently infected patients are in serious condition, and their percentage is only two. 

So far, 2,302,004 people have recovered. 

Meanwhile, 28 patients died from Covid-19 in Bangladesh over the last 24 hours, which is the highest single-day record of deaths in the country taking the death toll to 480. Besides, 1,532 more people tested positive, making 31,738 confirmed cases in total.
