Govt extends support to Covid-19 hit women entrepreneurs

The government is set to extend financial and technical support to women entrepreneurs and businesswomen affected by coronavirus pandemic.

State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Fazilatunnesa Indira issued necessary directives in this regard at a meeting at the secretariat on Sunday (May 31).

The meeting was attended by ministry officials, department heads and project directors, among others, said a press release issued by the ministry.

Women entrepreneurs and traders could not do business on the occasions of Pahela Baishakh and Eid-ul-Fitr, due to the situation caused by the pandemic. Now they have to be given support and training so that they can sell their products online, the state minister was quoted in the press release.
