Stocks open higher on both bourses as trading resumes

Stock exchanges in the country resumed trading on Sunday after a two-month suspension with both the bourses showing positive intent.

DSEX, the key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), increased by 52.15 points to reach 4060.44 points. Meanwhile, the Chattagram Stock Exchange (CSE) also ended higher with its All Shares Price Index (CASPI) advancing 141 points to close at 11,469 points.

However, turnover plunged to Tk143 crore on the DSE.

Of the traded issues, 60 gained, 68 declined and 195 remained unchanged during day's trading in DSE while 31 gained, 24 declined and 54 remained unchanged in CSE.

DSE and CSE remained closed during the government declared general holidays from March 26 to May 28, vowing to contain the spread of coronavirus.
