Stocks see slight surge

The stock market transactions ended with a slight rise on Wednesday (June 17). The main indexes of both the stock markets have risen on this day and the amount of money transacted has increased.

The share and unit prices of most of the companies participating in the transactions remained unchanged. Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) sources said this.

Today the key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange DSEX rose by 1 point to 3,962 points. Among other DSE indices, the Shariah Index rose by 0.42 point, the DSE-30 Index by 0.07 points and the CDSET by 0.07 point to 919 points, 1,326 points and 785 points respectively.

Shares and units of Tk 88.85 crore were traded at the DSE on Wednesday – up by Tk 23.55 crore from Tk 65.30 crore just a day ago. Of the 269 issues traded, 18 gained, 19 fell while 232 remained unchanged.

On the other hand, today the key index of the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) CASPI rose by 16 points to 11,259 points. Shares and units of Tk 6.58 crore were traded at the CSE.

Among the 82 issues traded during the day, 15 gained, 14 declined and 53 remained unchanged.
