Stock markets witness another gloomy Thursday

After a slight rise in the country's capital market for two working days, the indices bowed down again amid growing spread of coronavirus.

Stocks edged lower on Thursday, with turnover remaining below Tk 1.0 billion-mark.

The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange DSEX fell by 1 point to 3,960 points. Among other DSE indices, the Shariah index fell by 0.16 point, the DSE-30 index by 0.27 points and the CDSET by 0.36 point to 918 points, 1,325 points and 785 points respectively.

Shares and units of Tk69.65 crore were traded at the DSE on Thursday – down by Tk19.20 crore from Tk88.85 crore just one working day ago. Of the 229 issues traded, 14 gained, 18 fell while 197 remained unchanged.

On the other hand, the key index of the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) CASPI fell by 5 points to 11,254 points. Shares and units of Tk1.36 crore were traded at the CSE.

Among the 88 issues traded during the day, 11 gained, 16 declined and 61 remained unchanged.
