DSE records lowest daily transaction

Due to fixing of floor prices, there has been more stagnation in stock market transactions and this took the Dhaka Stock Exchange's (DSE) trading on Sunday (June 21) to its lowest level in 13 years.

According to DSE sources, shares and units of only Tk38 crore 62 lakh were traded on DSE on Sunday, which is the lowest in 13 years and 2 months.

Earlier, on June 4, the DSE recorded transaction amounting to 42 crore 97 lakh taka.

On Sunday, the key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange DSEX rose by2 points to 3,962 points. Among other DSE indices, the Shariah index rose by 0.34 point, the DSE-30 index by 1 point and the CDSET by 1 point to 918 points, 1,326 points and 786 points respectively. Of the 245 issues traded, 17 gained, 14 fell while 214 remained unchanged.

On the other hand, the key index of the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) CASPI fell by 3 points to 11,250 points on Sunday. Shares and units of Tk9.23 crore were traded at the CSE.

Among the 91 issues traded during the day, 8 gained, 9 declined and 74 remained unchanged.
