Stock markets see slight index rise, fall in transaction

Trading at the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) ended slightly higher on Wednesday (June 24). All indices of DSE increased today, so has the index of the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE).

However, the amount of money transacted today has decreased than that of the previous working day.

The share and unit prices of most of the companies participating in the transactions remained unchanged, said sources in the DSE and the CSE.

On Wednesday, the key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange DSEX went up by 1.48 points to 3,964 points. Among other DSE indices, the Shariah Index rose up by 0.35 point, the DSE-30 Index by 0.97 point and the CDSET by 0.39 point to 918 points, 1,327 points and 785 points respectively.

Shares and units of Tk 54.13 crore were traded on the DSE on Wednesday – down by Tk 17.83 crore from Tk 71.96 crore just one working day ago. Of the 271 issues traded, 23 gained, 15 fell while 233 remained unchanged.

On the other hand, the key index of the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) CASPI fell by 8 points to 11,256 points on Wednesday. Shares and units worth of Tk 11.60 crore were traded at the CSE.

Among the 104 issues traded during the day, 20 gained, 11 declined and 73 remained unchanged.
