Trading at both of the Stock Exchanges (DSE & CSE) ended higher on Monday, as it did on Sunday. All indices of both stock markets increased today.
However, the amount of money transacted today decreased than that of the previous working day.
At the same time, the share and unit prices of most of the companies participating in the transactions remained unchanged, said sources in the DSE and the CSE.
On Monday, the key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) DSEX went up by 7 points, standing at 3,981 points. Among other DSE indices, the Shariah Index rose up by 2 points, the DSE-30 Index by 3 points and the CDSET by 2 points, settling at 923 points, 1,335 points and 790 points respectively.
Shares and units of Tk 154.66 crore were traded on the DSE on Monday – down by Tk 2,388.59 crore from Tk 2,543.25 crore just one working day ago. Of the 298 issues traded, 40 gained, 19 fell while 239 remained unchanged.
On the other hand, the key index of the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) CASPI up by 25 points to 11,309 points on Monday. Shares and units worth of Tk 78.57 crore were traded at the CSE.
Among the 138 issues traded during the day, 29 gained, 13 declined and 96 remained unchanged.
