Stocks start week on strong note

The stock market trading of the first working day of the week ended on Sunday (July 12) in the hike. All the stock market indices have risen on this day. However, the amount of money traded on the Dhaka Stock Exchange has decreased slightly than the previous day.

However, the share and unit prices of most of the companies participating in the transactions remained unchanged, said sources in the DSE and the CSE.

On Sunday, the key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) DSEX up by 38 points, standing at 4,099 points. Among other DSE indices, the Shariah Index up by 16 points and the DSE-30 Index by 14 points, settling at 955 points and 1,384 points respectively.

Shares and units of Tk 346.96 crore were traded on the DSE on Sunday – down by Tk 0.51 crore from Tk 347.47 crore just one working day ago.

Of the 349 issues traded, 122 gained, 59 fell while 168 remained unchanged.

On the other hand, the key index of the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) CASPI up by 64 points to 11,601 points on Sunday. Shares and units worth of Tk 15.36 crore were traded at the CSE.

Among the 208 issues traded during the day, 69 gained, 35 declined and 104 remained unchanged.
