Gloomy opening to the week at both stock exchanges

All the indices of both the stock exchanges declined on Sunday, the first day of the week. However, the amount of transaction at DSE has improved than Thursday.

On Sunday, the key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) DSEX decreased by 18points, standing at 4,051 points. Among other DSE indices, the Shariah Index down by 7 point and the DSE-30 Index decreased by 12 points, settling at 939 points and 1,357 points respectively.

Shares and units of Tk234.44 crore were traded at the DSE on Sunday. Of the 327 issues traded, 49 gained, 78 fell while 200 remained unchanged.

The key index of the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) CASPI shed by 44 points to 11,515 points while shares and units worth of Tk6.80 crore were traded at the stock exchange.

Among the 161 issues traded during the day, 28 gained, 50 declined and 83 remained unchanged.
