M Amanullah has been elected as the vice-chairman of Mercantile Bank Limited, the bank said in a press release Sunday.
The decision was made in the 367th board meeting of the bank held Thursday (July 16).
Amanullah is also the sponsor director of the Bank. He was the former Chairman of Mercantile Bank Ltd. and contributed heavily towards the efficiency and optimization of Mercantile Bank during his tenure, the press release wrote.
M Amanullah, the founder of the conglomerate, Aman Group of Companies, is one of the directors of the Bangla daily 'Amader Shomoy'. He was the former Chairman of the Board of Trustee of Presidency University, Dhaka and is the founder chairman of Gulshan North Club. He is also recognised as a Commercially Important Person (CIP).
