Bourses look for recovery after five working days

Indices at both the stock exchanges in the country made some recovery on Monday, after five working days.

On Monday, the key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) DSEX increased by 20points, standing at 4,070 points.

Among other DSE indices, the Shariah Index increased by 5 points and the DSE-30 Index increased by 8 points.

Shares and units of Tk240.47 crore were traded on the DSE on Monday– which was Tk234.44 crore yesterday,

Of the 333 issues traded, 113 gained, 17 fell while 203 remained unchanged.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange also ended higher with its All Shares Price Index (CASPI) advancing 62 points to close at 11,577 and the Selective Categories Index (CSCX) gaining 37 points to finish at 7,016.

Of the issues traded, 66 gained, 15 declined and 97 remained unchanged on the CSE.

The port city bourse traded 2.13 million shares and mutual fund units with a turnover value of Tk 63 million.
