Bourses lose points, transactions decrease

All indices of both the stock exchanges in the country lost points on Wednesday (July 22). At the same time, the amount of transaction also decreased.

On Wednesday, the key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) DSEX decreased by 9 points. Among other DSE indices, the Shariah Index decreased by 3 points and the DSE-30 Index by 0.18 points.

Shares and units of Tk 247.47 crore were traded on the DSE on Wednesday which was Tk 252.89 crore the previous working day. Of the 340 issues traded, 64 gained, 96 fell while 180 remained unchanged.

On the other hand, the key index of the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) CASPI decreased by 3 points on Wednesday. Shares and units worth of Tk 5.77 crore were traded at the CSE.

Among the 196 issues traded during the day, 42 gained, 58 declined and 96 remained unchanged.
