Stocks register mixed trend in DSE, gain in CSE

Both the stock exchanges scored points on Monday as bourses continue positive trend.

DSEX went up by 11.17 points or 0.27 per cent to settle at 4156.55 during the four hours trading.

Among the two other indices, the DS30 index, comprising blue chips, rose 1.66 points to finish at 11402.55 points. However, the DSE Shariah Index (DSES) dropped by 2.09 points to close at 963.86.

Turnover, another important indicator of the market, stood at Taka 4.45 billion on the country’s prime bourse.

Of the issues traded, 178 remained unchanged while 115 issues advanced and 57 declined on the DSE floor.

A total number of 99,590 trades were executed in the day’s trading session with a trading volume of 129.40 million shares and mutual fund units.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange also ended higher with its All Shares Price Index (CASPI)—gaining 37.98 points to close at 11834.16 and the Selective Categories Index – CSCX –rising 23.04 points to finish at 7175.52.

Of the 229 issues traded, 79 gained, 54 declined and 96 remained unchanged on the CSE.

3.19 million shares and mutual fund units were traded at the CSE with a turnover value of Taka 72.21 million.
