Covid-19: Global deaths top 700,000-mark

The global death toll from the novel coronavirus infection crossed the 700,000-mark, taking the death toll to 706,041 as of Thursday morning, according to the data provided by the Centre for System Science and Engineering of Johns Hopkins University.

Moreover, 18,727,530 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed around the world.

Although cases of new infection keep growing among the infected world population currently, most of them are in mild condition.

Among the currently 6,100,304 infected patients 6,034,764 are in mild condition, which is 99 per cent, Worldometer records in its daily updates. On the other hand, 65,540 (of the currently infected patients are in serious condition, and their percentage is only one.

So far, 12,161,993 people have recovered.

In Bangladesh, 33 patients died from Covid-19 in the country over the last 24 hours as of Tuesday, taking the death toll to 3,267.

Besides, 2,654 more people tested positive for the virus, which makes 246,674 confirmed cases in total.
