DSEX, the main index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange, increased by 180 points on Sunday- breaking all predictions and thresholds. This is the second highest rise in DSE's history since the index was launched. At the same time, the transaction amount also exceeded 11,286cr taka.

The DSEX index started its journey in January, 2013 with 4056 points. Earlier, on January 19 this year, DSEX registered its highest rise of 232 points.

Among other DSE indices, the Shariah Index increased by 47 points and the DSE-30 Index increased by 66 points, settling at 1058 points and 1,540 points respectively.

Shares and units of 1,128.64 crore taka were traded on the DSE on Sunday. Of the 355 issues traded, 293 gained, 42 fell while 20 remained unchanged.

On the other hand, the key index of the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) CASPI increased by 487 points to 12,889 points on Sunday. Shares and units worth of Tk 26.78 crore were traded at the CSE.

Among the 274 issues traded during the day, 210 gained, 29 declined and 35 remained unchanged.
