The Share Market Coordination and Supervision Committee has been reconstituted to bring the stock market back to normalcy.

The Financial Institutions Department of Ministry of Finance issued a notification on Monday (August 10) in this regard.

The circular said the scope of work of the Coordination and Supervision Committee of the stock market activities remained unchanged and the then Additional Secretary Maksura Noor NDC was replaced by Additional Secretary Abdullah Harun Pasha as Coordinator and Member Secretary Nahid Hossain as a joint secretary instead of deputy secretary.

The reconstituted committee has three more members besides the coordinator and member secretary. They are - Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank, Executive Director of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission and Managing Director of Investment Corporation of Bangladesh.

A number of proposals were made in a meeting between Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal and market stakeholders to bring the country's stock market back to normalcy. A coordination and Supervision committee was set up last year from the finance department of the finance ministry to implement the proposal, which was reconstituted on Monday.
