Agrani Insurance declares 10% cash dividend

The board of directors of Agrani Insurance Company Ltd has recommended a 10 per cent cash dividend for the year ended on December 31, 2019.

The final approval will come at the annual general meeting (AGM) scheduled to be held at 11:30am on September 30 on a digital platform. The record date is September 2.

The company has reported earnings per share (EPS) of Tk 1.26, net asset value (NAV) per share of Tk 17.39 and net operating cash flow per share (NOCFPS) of minus Tk 0.71 for the year ended on December 31, 2019, as against Tk 1.38, Tk 16.12 and Tk 0.59 respectively for the same period of the previous year.

The company disbursed 5.0 per cent stock dividend in 2018.

On Wednesday, there was no price limit on the trading of the shares of the company following its corporate declaration. However, as per the BSEC order issued on March 19, 2020, the floor price will be applicable accordingly.

Its share traded between Tk 14.40 and Tk 34.90 in the last one year. Each share of the general insurer closed at Tk 30.20 on Monday at Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).

As per the DSE data, the company’s paid-up capital is Tk 302.45 million, authorised capital is Tk 500 million and the total number of securities is 30.24 million. Sponsor-directors own 30.77 per cent stake in the company while the institutional investors 17.85 per cent and general public 51.38 per cent as on June 30, 2020.
