Traders keep close watch on bourses

Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) ended the week on a positive note with a big rise on Sunday and then correction in the middle of the week. The amount of transaction declined on Thursday although DSEX ended on 4,794 points, 3 points better than that of the previous day.

Among other indices of DSE, Shariah index has increased by 6 points and DSE-30 index increased by 3 points to 1,100 and 1,647 points respectively.

Shares and units of 936.89 crore taka were traded on the DSE on Thursday. Of the 355 issues traded, 125 gained, 186 fell while 44 remained unchanged.

Beximco Limited topped the turnover chart followed by Beximco Pharma, IFIC Bank, Orion Pharma, LafargeHolcim Bangladesh, Active Fine Chemicals, Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company, Square Pharma, Indo-Bangla Pharmaceuticals and Brac Bank.

On the other hand, the key index of the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) CASPI declined by 14 points to 13,713 points on Thursday. Shares and units worth of 27.86 crore taka were traded at the CSE.

Among the 264 issues traded during the day, 100 gained, 129 declined and 35 remained unchanged.
