Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) is planning to organize a roadshow in Dhaka next year to promote Korean tourism as well as explore collaboration opportunities with Bangladesh’s tour operators when travel resumes in post-coronavirus period.

KTO expressed its keen interest to explore the Bangladesh tourism market as last year more than 17,000 Bangladeshi nationals traveled South Korea that is 11% growth compare to 2018.

These were revealed at the first ever webinar organized by KTO in association with TravTalk recently, a press release said on Friday.

KTO Delhi office deputy director Young Geul Choi, Marketing Manager Sandeep Dutta and President of Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB) Md Rafeuzzaman joined the discussion.

“We think the potential for travel in the future is much bigger, that is why we decided to organise this product training to update the Bangladesh travel industry about South Korea’s latest tourism products,” Choi said.

Besides updating the trade about Korea’s most beautiful and scenic locales, Dutta said, one of the best things about South Korea is the availability of Halal and Muslim-friendly food.

“For outbound tourism from Bangladesh, it is a very good opportunity to click business and choose Destination Korea,” Rafeuzzaman said.
