Upward trend in DSE, fall in CSE

Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) traded up slightly on the first working day of the week on Sunday (August 23). However, the index fell today on the other stock market, the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE). Trading on both stock exchanges increased slightly.

On Sunday, the key index of Dhaka stock exchange (DSE) DSEX went up by 1 point to 4,795 points. Among other indices of DSE, Shariah index increased by 7 points to 1,107 points and DSE-30 index increased by 4 points to 1,651.

Shares and units worth Tk 937.98 crore were traded in the DSE on Sunday which was Tk 1.09 crore more than the previous amount of Tk 936.89 crore on one working day ago. Among the 355 traded issues, 170 gained, 142 declined and 43 remained unchanged.

On the other hand, the key index of the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) CASPI fell by 61 points to 13,636 points on Sunday. Shares and units worth Tk 30.07 crore were traded at the CSE.

In total, 270 issues were traded during the day of which 116 gained, 123 declined and 31 remained unchanged.
