Express Insurance starts share trading

Express Insurance Ltd has started trading of the shares at the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) from Monday with an open price limit of 50 per cent on issue price for August 24, 25.

The price limit will remain open 50 per cent on the closing price of debut trading and the face value of each share will be considered as the floor price, according to the DSE website on Monday.

The company is under 'N' category with code 25748 at the DSE.

The company’s profit after tax was 17.41 million taka and basic earnings per share (EPS) of 0.45 taka for the three months (April to June 2020) period ended on 30 June 2020 against profit after tax of 8.00 million taka and basic earnings per share (EPS) of 0.20 taka for the same period the previous year, as per un-audited Q2 financial statements.

Post-IPO (Initial public offering) basic EPS for the abovementioned three months would be 0.27 taka.

Profit after tax was 32.44 million taka and basic earnings per share (EPS) of 0.83 taka for the six months (January to June 2020) period ended on 30 June 2020 against profit after tax of 28.89 million taka and basic earnings per share (EPS) of 0.74 taka for the same period of the previous year.

Post-IPO (Initial public offering) EPS would be 0.50 taka for the abovementioned six-month period. Pre-IPO net asset value (NAV) per share would be 18.46 taka as on 30 June 2020 and the same would be 15.08 taka (considering Post-IPO paid-up shares).

The pre-IPO (Initial public offering) paid-up number of shares for 3 (three) months (April-June 2020) and 6 (six) months (January- June 2020) period ended on 30 June 2020 was 39,118,464, which was the same for the same period of the previous year and the post-IPO paid-up number of shares will be 65,197,464.

However, the stockbrokers, merchant bankers and portfolio managers have been asked to abstain from providing loan facilities to purchase securities of the company in between 1st to 30th trading days starting from Monday.
