BSEC forms inquiry committee on DSE website issues

Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC), the regulatory body of the capital markets, has formed a six-member committee to look into the causes of issues occurred in the website and trading system of the country's main stock exchange the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).

The committee, led by Mustafizur Rahman, Professor and CSE Department Chairman of Dhaka University, was formed on Monday (August 24).

The other members of the committee are - Dhaka University Professor and Director of ICT Cell Muhammad Asif Hossain Khan, Professor of IIT Md Shariful Islam, BSEC Director Rajib Ahmed, Deputy Director Mohammad Nazrul Islam and Assistant Director Shahidul Islam.

The committee will look into the causes behind the issues and glitches in the DSE updated website and the transaction method as well as their impact on the stock market.

The committee will also work on finding the person(s) responsible for the problems. At the same time, it will show ways to solve such problems in the future.

The inquiry committee has been given 7 working days to submit its investigation report.
