Tk 18,000cr returns to stocks this week

Like the previous week, all indices rose in the outgoing week but the amount of money in both the stock markets decreased during the week.

Despite the decline in transactions, investors have recovered a market capitalization of 18,842.65 crore taka during the week.

It is learned that 4,144 crore 22 lakh 13 thousand 384 taka has been traded on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) in 5 working days of the outgoing week. The traded amount was 1 thousand 753 crore 78 lakh 80 thousand 662 taka or 29.74 percent less than the previous week. In the previous week, the transaction was 5 thousand 898 crore 94 thousand 46 taka.

On the last working day of the outgoing week, the market capitalization of DSE stood at 3,69,656.19 crore taka. The market capitalization on the last working day of the previous week was 3 lakh 59 thousand 789 crore 74 lakh 45 thousand taka. In other words, the market capitalization of DSE has increased by 9,866.45 crore taka or 2.74 percent during the week.

The DSE's main index, the DSEX, rose 89.11 points, or 1.65 percent, to 4,873.18 points during the week. Among other indices, the Shariah Index rose 30.27 points or 2.75 percent, and the DSE-30 Index rose 43.03 points or 2.61 percent to 1,130.61 points and 1,690.10 points respectively.

In the outgoing week, a total of 360 companies participated in the share and unit transactions on the DSE. Among the companies, the share price increased by 181 or 50.27 percent, decreased by 150 or 41.66 percent and remained unchanged at 29 or 8.05 percent.

On the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) in the outgoing week, the amount of money has been traded 137 crore 85 lakh 14 thousand 610 taka. And in the previous week the transaction was 169 crore 58 lakh 44 thousand 478 taka. In other words, the turnover on the CSE during the week has decreased by 31 crore 73 lakh 29 thousand 868 taka or 18.71 percent.

During the week, the market capitalization of CSE increased by 8,976.20 crore taka or 3.08 percent to 2,99,868.77 crore taka. In the previous week, the market capitalization of CSE was 2 lakh 90 thousand 892 crore 56 lakh 80 thousand taka.

During the week, the overall CSE index CASPI rose 176.38 points or 1.28 percent to 13,873.02 points. Shares and units of 317 companies traded on the CSE during the week. Of the companies, 143 or 45.11 percent increased, 143 or 45.11 percent decreased and 31 or 9.78 percent remained unchanged.
