Stocks extend winning streak

Stocks on Monday extended the winning streak for fourth straight sessions after a week of confusion among investors and sell pressure. 

The core index of the major bourse DSEX jumped more than 75 points, crossing the 4900-mark within first 30 minutes of trading.

On Monday, DSEX went up by 6 points to close at 4,879 points. Among other indices of DSE, Shariah index increased by 2 points and DSE-30 index increased by 9 points respectively.

Shares and units of Tk 1,166.77 crore were traded on the DSE on Monday. Of the 348 issues traded, 116 gained, 191 fell while 41 remained unchanged.

On the other hand, the key index of the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) CASPI went up by 35 points to 13,908 points on Monday. Shares and units worth of Tk 32.88 crore were traded at the CSE.

Among the 253 issues traded during the day, 102 gained, 116 declined and 45 remained unchanged.
