Committee seeks more time to submit report on DSE website issues

The six-member inquiry committee set up to look into the cause of DSE’s (Dhaka Stock Exchange) slow-moving website and trading has asked for another five working days to submit a report.

The inquiry committee sent a letter to the commission on Thursday time extension.

Earlier, the regulatory body Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) had given the committee seven working days to submit its report on August 24. As such, September 3 was the last day to submit report.

The committee convened by Dhaka University Professor and Chairman of the CSE Department Md Mustafizur Rahman will look into the cause of suffering on the DSE website and in the transaction system, as well as its impact on the stock market and the person responsible. At the same time, it will provide solutions to prevent such problems in the future.

Earlier, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) Chairman Yunusur Rahman launched the updated version website on the afternoon of August 18.

Investors suffered on August 19 and 20 after the inauguration of the site. The DSE expressed its regret in a press release on August 23. However, the website is now working normally.
