Turnover at DSE up but CSE down last week

Like the previous week, the stock market traded up in the outgoing week. All stock market indices rose during the week. However, during the week, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) transactions increased slightly but the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) transactions decreased.

It is learned that in 5 working days of the outgoing week, Tk 4,123 crore 43 lakh 78 thousand 633 were traded on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE). Which is Tk 95 crore 21 lakh 65 thousand 249 or 2.30 percent more than the previous week. The previous week's transaction was Tk 4 thousand 144 crore 22 lakh 13 thousand 384.

During the week, the DSE's main index, the DSEX rose 54.65 points or 1.12 percent to 4,927.82 points. Among other indices, the Shariah Index rose 11.21 points or 0.99 percent and the DSE-30 Index rose 25.31 points or 1.50 percent to 1,141.82 points and 1,715.41 points respectively.

A total of 360 companies traded on the DSE during the outgoing week. Among the companies, the prices of 178 have increased, 154 have decreased and 28 have remained unchanged.

On the other stock market Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) in the outgoing week, the amount of money transaction was Tk 115 crore 9 lakh 53 thousand 983. In the previous week the transaction was Tk 137 crore 85 lakh 14 thousand 610. In other words, the turnover on the CSE during the week has decreased by Tk 22 crore 75 lakh 60 thousand 627 or 16.50 percent.

During the week, the overall CSE index CASPI rose 193.55 points or 1.39 percent to 14,066.57 points. Shares and units of 308 companies traded on the CSE during the week. Among the companies, prices of 168 companies increased, 102 companies decreased and 38 companies remained unchanged.
