Global Covid-19 death toll reaches 877,438

The global death toll from the novel coronavirus infection reached 877,438 as of Sunday morning, according to the Centre for System Science and Engineering of Johns Hopkins University.

Moreover, 26,748,637 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed around the world.

Although cases of new infection keep growing among the infected world population currently, most of them are in mild condition.

Among the currently 7,016,312 infected patients 6,955,593 are in mild condition, which is 99 per cent, Worldometer records in its daily updates.

On the other hand, 60,719 of the currently infected patients are in serious condition, and their percentage is only one.

So far, 17,840,227 people have recovered.

In Bangladesh, 35 more Covid-19 patients died in the last 24 hours as of Saturday, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 4,447.

Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 323,565 as 1,950 new cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours.
