Janata Insurance declares 10% cash dividend; reports financial results

The board of directors of Janata Insurance Company Ltd has recommended a 10 per cent cash dividend for the year ended on December 31, 2019.

The final approval will come at the annual general meeting (AGM) scheduled to be held at 11:00am on November 26 through a digital platform. The record date is September 30.

The company has reported its unaudited financial results for the first and second quarters as well.

The company has reported earnings per share (EPS) of 1.08 taka, net asset value (NAV) per share of 14.22 taka and net operating cash flow per share (NOCFPS) of 0.86 taka for the year ended on December 31, 2019, as against 1.06 taka, 14.30 taka and 0.92 taka respectively for the same period of the previous year.

For the first quarter (Q1) period, earnings per share (EPS) was 0.40 taka for January-March 2020 as against 0.24 taka for January-March 2019. Net operating cash flow per share (NOCFPS) was 0.49 taka for January-March 2020 as against 0.12 taka for January-March 2019. Net asset value (NAV) per share was 14.52 taka as on March 31, 2020, and 14.22 taka as on December 31, 2019.

Besides, for the second quarter (Q2) period, earnings per share (EPS) was 0.30 taka for April-June 2020 as against 0.23 taka for April-June 2019; earnings per share (EPS) was 0.70 taka for January-June 2020 as against 0.47 taka for January-June 2019. Net operating cash flow per share (NOCFPS) was 1.47 taka for January-June 2020 as against 0.55 taka for January-June 2019. Net asset value (NAV) per share was 14.91 taka as on June 30, 2020, and 14.22 taka as on December 31, 2019.

There will be no price limit on the trading of the shares of the company today (Sunday) following its corporate declaration. However, the floor price shall be applicable accordingly, as per a BSEC order issued on March 19, 2020.
