Prof Masudur Rahman joins as chairperson of SME Foundation

Dr Md Masudur Rahman, professor of Marketing department of Dhaka University, has joined as the new chairperson of the SME Foundation.

He officially took the position on Wednesday (September 9).

This information was revealed in a press release signed by Muhammad Morshed Alam, Assistant General Manager of SME Foundation.

The death of KM Habib Ullah on June 17 left the post of chairperson of the foundation vacant. Then the Ministry of Industries issued a circular on September 7, 2020, appointing Md Masudur Rahman as the chairperson of The SME Foundation.

Prof Md Masudur Rahman is the 7th chairperson of the SME Foundation.

Prof Md Masudur Rahman graduated from the Marketing department of Dhaka University in 1988 and obtained his postgraduate degree in 1989. He received his Master's degree from the University of Salford in the United Kingdom in 1997 and his PhD from the University of Wales Institute in the United Kingdom in 2010.

He has also been the independent director of the Dhaka Stock Exchange since 2017. He served as a member of the Finance Committee of Dhaka University as well. He has worked as a consultant in several domestic and foreign development partners and commercial organizations.
