Both the stock markets of the country lost points on Sunday (September 20) as all the indices declined like the previous session on Thursday. However, the amount of money transacted increased from that of the previous working day.
Meanwhile, share and unit prices of most of the companies participating in the transaction have decreased.
On Sunday, the main index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) DSEX decreased by 16 points and settled at 5,089 points. Among other indices of the DSE, Shariah index (DSES) went down by 10 points and DSE-30 index, comprising blue chips, decreased by 9 points, closing at 1,153 and 1,753 points respectively.
Shares and units of 1,103.88 crore taka were traded on the DSE on Sunday, which is 90.09 crore taka more than 1,013.79 crore taka on the previous working day.
Losers took lead over gainers on Sunday as out of the 356 issues traded, 124 gained, 194 fell while 38 remained unchanged.
On the other hand, the key index of the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) CASPI dropped by 36 points to finish at 14,538 points on Sunday. Shares and units worth of 34.90 crore taka were traded at the CSE.
Among the 288 issues traded during the day, 109 gained, 146 declined and 33 remained unchanged.
