Bourses witness slight rise after 4 days

After experiencing correction for four consecutive sessions, both the stock markets of the country ended with positivity on Wednesday (September 23).

On Wednesday, the main index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), DSEX increased by 2 points, standing at 4,972 points. Among other indices of the DSE, the Shariah index (DSES) decreased by 1 point and the DSE-30 index, comprising blue chips, dropped by 6 points to close at 1,126 and 1,708 points respectively.

Shares and units of 881.81 crore taka were traded on the DSE on Wednesday, 151.89 crore taka more than 729.92 crore taka of the previous working day.

Gainers took lead over losers today as of the 356 issues traded, 174 gained, 137 fell while 45 remained unchanged.

On the other hand, the key index of the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) CASPI went up by 20 points to finish at 14,190 points on Wednesday. Shares and units worth of 21.22 crore taka were traded at the CSE.

Among the 294 issues traded during the day, 137 gained, 110 declined and 47 remained unchanged.
