Prime Islami Life declares 10pc cash dividend, posts financial results

The board of directors of Prime Islami Life Insurance Ltd has recommended a 10 per cent cash dividend for the financial year ended on December 31, 2019.

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) confirmed the information on its website on Thursday.

The final approval will come at the annual general meeting (AGM) scheduled to be held at 11:00am on November 23 through a digital platform. The record date is October 14.

The insurance company also revealed its unaudited financial results for separate periods.

For the first quarter (Q1) period, the company has reported decrease in life revenue account for Jan-Mar, 2020 as 670.44 million taka with total life insurance fund of 8,149.83 million taka as against decrease of 451.88 million taka and 8,358.00 million taka respectively for the same period of the previous year.

For the second quarter (Q2) period, the company’s increase in life revenue account for Apr-June 2020 was 62.18 million taka with total life insurance fund of 8,212.01 million taka as against decrease in 84.24 million taka and 8,273.77 million taka respectively for the same period of the previous year. Decrease in life revenue account for Jan-June 2020 was 608.26 million taka with total life insurance fund of 8,212.01 million taka as against decrease in 536.12 million taka and 8,273.77 million taka respectively for the same period of the previous year.

There will be no price limit on the trading of the shares of the company today (Thursday) following its corporate declaration. However, the floor price shall be applicable accordingly as per a Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) order issued on March 19, 2020.
