PE ratio of DSE decreases slightly

The overall Price-to-Earnings (PE) ratio of the country's main stock exchange, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), fell slightly in the outgoing week.

The PE ratio of the DSE was at 13.52 points at the beginning of the week, which is at 13.51 points at the end of the week. In other words, the PE ratio has declined by 0.01 points or 0.07 per cent during the week.

At the end of the week, the PE ratio of the banking sector stands at 6.95 points, IT sector at 16.28 points, textile at 15.92 points, pharmaceuticals and chemicals at 19.71 points, engineering at 14.83 points, insurance at 19.08 points, food at 13.47 points, leather at 15.99 points, cement at 26.94 points, power and energy at 12.27 points, financial at 29.41 points, travel and leisure at 30.93 points, paper at 46.18 points, telecommunications at 13.26 points, services and housing at 13.84 points, ceramic at 23.36 points, jute at 37.26 points, and finally, the miscellaneous sector settles at 23.58 points.
