DSEX increases by 50 points despite decreasing transaction

In continuation with the previous session, both the stock markets of the country witnessed buying tendency among traders on Sunday, the first working day of the week and the main index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) DSEX rose by fifty.

At the same time, share and unit prices of most companies have increased. However, the amount of transaction decreased from that of the previous working day.

On Sunday, DSEX increased by 50.58 points, standing at 4,896.68 points. Among the other indices of the DSE, Shariah index went up by 12.10 points and DSE-30 index increased by 19.88 points to finish at 1,110.90 and 1,700.01 points respectively.

Shares and units of 785.35 crore taka were traded on the DSE on Sunday, which is 178 crore taka less than 963.35 crore taka of the previous working day.

Gainers took a big lead over losers today as out of the 358 issues traded, 203 gained, 81 fell while 74 remained unchanged.

On the other hand, the key index of the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) CASPI advanced by 171.84 points to close at 13,995.97 points on Sunday. Shares and units worth of 25.59 crore taka were traded at the CSE.

Among the 264 issues traded during the day, 159 gained, 61 declined and 44 remained unchanged.
