The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has decided to extend the deadline by one more month until December 31 for filing income tax returns considering the current situation in the country due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
NBR Chairman Abu Hena Md Rahmatul Muneem on Monday confirmed the matter to journalists at a press conference at the NBR Segunbagicha office in the capital.
A gazette notification was issued on Monday in this regard.
Earlier on Sunday, Abu Hena Md Rahmatul Muneem said at a press briefing that the NBR will not to extend the scheduled deadline for submission of income tax returns without any fine and interest after November 30.
The decision went for both the individual taxpayers and for the companies.
