Bourses bounce back after one day's slip

After witnessing fall on Monday due mainly to price fall in large-cap securities, the stock markets of Dhaka and Chattogram rose again on Tuesday (December 1). All the indicators of the stock exchanges went up on this day.

The share and unit prices of most companies have increased at the same time. However, the amount of transaction has decreased from the previous session.

On Tuesday, the main index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), DSEX increased by 37.10 points and is standing at 4,903.95 points. Among other indices of the DSE, the Shariah index (DSES) advanced by 6.38 points and the blue-chip DS30 index increased by 8.10 points to finish at 1,120.35 and 1,695.50 points respectively.

Shares and units of 663.84 crore taka were traded on the DSE on Tuesday, which is 140.37 crore taka less than the 804.21 crore taka of the previous working day.

Gainers took lead over losers on Tuesday as of the 350 issues traded, 149 gained, 92 fell while 109 remained unchanged.

On the other hand, the key index of the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) CASPI went up by 99.39 points to close at 14,090.82 points on Tuesday. Shares and units worth of 24.66 crore taka were traded at the CSE.

Among the 242 issues traded during the day, 106 gained, 71 declined and 65 remained unchanged.
