Stock markets rise again amid buying spree

Stocks on Wednesday witnessed an upward trend as investors continued their buying binge on large-cap issues amid optimism. All the indicators of the stock markets have risen.

At the same time, the share and unit prices of most companies have increased. The amount of transaction also soared from the previous session.

On Wednesday, the main index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), DSEX increased by 30.90 points, standing at 4,934.86 points. Among other indices of the DSE, Shariah index (DSES) advanced by 6.26 points and DS30 index, comprising blue chips, went up by 9.47 points to close at 1,126.62 and 1,704.98 points respectively.

Shares and units of 841.07 crore taka were traded on the DSE on Wednesday, which is 177.23 crore taka more than the 663.84 crore taka of the previous working day.

Gainers took lead over losers as out of the 355 issues traded, 153 gained, 106 fell while 96 remained unchanged.

On the other hand, the key index of the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) CASPI rose 79.15 points to finish at 14,169.98 points on Wednesday. Shares and units worth of 24.10 crore taka were traded at the CSE.

Among the 250 issues traded during the day, 113 gained, 83 declined and 54 remained unchanged.
