Over Tk 16.6cr returns to stocks

Despite decline in the previous week, the stock market traded up in the outgoing week (November 29-December 3) with the return of Tk 16.6 crore to the bourses.

At the same time, the share and unit prices of most companies have increased. However, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) has seen a decline in the amount of money traded during the week. Although the market capitalisation in the stock market decreased in the previous week, the market capitalisation in the last week has returned to Tk 16,000 crore.

It is learned that this week, Tk 16 thousand 609 crore 74 lakh 94 thousand has returned to the both stock exchanges. Before the start of trading on the first working day of the week on the DSE, the market capitalisation was Tk 3 lakh 90 thousand 533 crore 56 lakh 48 thousand. At the end of the last working day of the week, the market capitalisation stood at Tk 3 lakh 99 thousand 278 crore 62 lakh 62 thousand. In other words, the market capitalisation on the DSE has increased by Tk 8 thousand 745 crore 6 lakh 4 thousand.

And before the start of trading on the first working day of the week at the CSE, the market capitalisation was Tk 3 lakh 21 thousand 217 crore 72 lakh 20 thousand taka. And at the end of the last working day of the week, the market capitalisation stood at Tk 3 lakh 29 thousand 82 crore 41 lakh 10 thousand. In other words, the market capitalisation on the CSE has increased by Tk 7 thousand 864 crore 68 lakh 90 thousand in a week.

It is learned that Tk 3,897 crore 99 lakh 1 thousand 893 has been traded on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) in five working days of the outgoing week. Which is Tk 11 crore 11 lakh 37 thousand 13 or 0.28 percent less than the previous week. In the previous week, the transaction was Tk 3 thousand 909 crore 10 lakh 38 thousand 906.

DSE's main index, the DSEX, up by 105.75 points or 2.17 percent to 4,974.84 points during the week. Among other indices, the Shariah Index up by 16.69 points or 1.49 percent and the DSE-30 Index up by 37.43 points or 2.22 percent to 1,135.54 points and 1,727.13 points respectively.

In the outgoing week, a total of 362 companies participated in the share and unit transactions on the DSE. Among the companies, the share prices increased by 206, decreased by 88 and remained unchanged at 68.

On the other stock market Chattogram Stock Exchange (CSE) in the outgoing week, the amount of money has been traded Tk 125 crore 9 lakh 36 thousand 804. And in the previous week the transaction was Tk 87 crore 57 lakh 2 thousand 889. In other words, the turnover on the CSE during the week has increased by Tk 37 crore 52 lakh 33 thousand 915 or 42.84 percent.

During the week, the overall CSE index CASPI up by 300.57 points or 2.15 percent to 14,262.56 points. Shares and units of 310 companies traded on the CSE during the week. Of the companies, 176 increased, 83 decreased and 51 remained unchanged.
