Covid-19: Global death toll reaches 2,227,004

Global deaths from the novel coronavirus infection reached 2,227,004 as of Monday morning, according to the Centre for System Science and Engineering of Johns Hopkins University.

Moreover, 102,930,055 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed around the world.

Although cases of new infection keep growing among the infected world population currently, most of them are in mild condition.

Among the currently 26,157,621 infected patients 26,054,131 are in mild condition, which is 99.6 per cent, Worldometer records in its daily updates.

On the other hand, 107,988 of the currently infected patients are in serious condition, and their percentage is only 0.4.

So far, 57,015,794 people have recovered.

In Bangladesh, 16 more Covid-19 patients died in the last 24 hours as of Sunday, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 8,127.

Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 535,139 as 369 new cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours.
