Global coronavirus caseload surpasses 114mn

Global deaths from the novel coronavirus infection reached 2,529,897 as of Monday morning, according to the Centre for System Science and Engineering of Johns Hopkins University.

Moreover, 114,041,134 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed around the world.

Although cases of new infection keep growing among the infected world population currently, most of them are in mild condition.

Among the currently 21,903,037 infected patients 21,812,747 are in mild condition, which is 99.6 per cent, Worldometer records in its daily updates.

On the other hand, 90,290 of the currently infected patients are in serious condition, and their percentage is only 0.4.

So far, 64,393,710 people have recovered.

In Bangladesh, eight more Covid-19 patients died in the last 24 hours as of Saturday, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 8,408.

Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 546,216 as 385 new cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours.
