World coronavirus death toll reaches 2,618,490

Global deaths from the novel coronavirus infection reached 2,618,490 as of Thursday morning, according to the Centre for System Science and Engineering of Johns Hopkins University.

Moreover, 117,979,678 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed around the world.

Although cases of new infection keep growing among the infected world population currently, most of them are in mild condition.

Among the currently 21,757,994 infected patients 21,668,204 are in mild condition, which is 99.6 per cent, Worldometer records in its daily updates.

On the other hand, 89,790 of the currently infected patients are in serious condition, and their percentage is only 0.4.

So far, 66,824,908 people have recovered.

In Bangladesh, seven more Covid-19 patients died in the last 24 hours as of Wednesday, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 8,496.

Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 5,53,105 as 1,018 new cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours.
