Global coronavirus death toll reaches 2,628,453

The global death count from the novel coronavirus infection reached 2,628,453 as of Friday morning, according to the Centre for System Science and Engineering of Johns Hopkins University.

Moreover, 118,455,888 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed around the world.

Although cases of new infection keep growing among the infected world population currently, most of them are in mild condition.

Among the currently 21,745,084 infected patients 21,655,152 are in mild condition, which is 99.6 per cent, Worldometer records in its daily updates.

On the other hand, 89,932 of the currently infected patients are in serious condition, and their percentage is only 0.4.

So far, 67,095,624 people have recovered.

In Bangladesh, six more Covid-19 patients died in the last 24 hours as of Friday, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 8,502.

Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 554,156 as 1,051 new cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours.
