World coronavirus death toll reaches 2,638,887

Global deaths from the novel coronavirus infection reached 2,638,887 as of Saturday morning, according to the Centre for System Science and Engineering of Johns Hopkins University.

Moreover, 119,014,982 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed around the world.

Although cases of new infection keep growing among the infected world population currently, most of them are in mild condition.

Among the currently 20,701,128 infected patients 20,611,752 are in mild condition, which is 99.6 per cent, Worldometer records in its daily updates.

On the other hand, 89,376 of the currently infected patients are in serious condition, and their percentage is only 0.4.

So far, 67,368,562 people have recovered.

In Bangladesh, 13 more Covid-19 patients died in the last 24 hours as of Friday, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 8,515.

Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 555,222 as 1,066 new cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours.
