Women entrepreneurs will be provided with plots in the Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) on priority basis, said Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun on Sunday.
The minister came up with the remarks while attending a seminar orgnised by SME Foundation marking the International Women's Day at Agargaon in the capital.
"Measures will be taken to marketing goods produced by female entrepreneurs of BSCIC and SME Foundation under the Industries Ministry," he said, adding that the readymade garment industry of the country enhanced rapidly for sincere and spontaneous participation of women workers.
Bank and economic organisations should not think only about making profit, they should have patriotism and humanity, the minister insisted, and requested them to provide easy loans for women entrepreneurs.
Women should march ahead along with men for the sustainable development of the country, he suggested adding that women's empowerment and participation has been implemented with the direction of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in all sectors.
The minister asked BSCIC and SME Foundation to take proper steps against the banks who show negligence towards providing loans to women entrepreneurs.
