Global coronavirus death toll reaches 2,679,932

The global death count from the novel coronavirus infection reached 2,679,932 as of Thursday morning, according to the Centre for System Science and Engineering of Johns Hopkins University.

Moreover, 121,139,773 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed around the world.

Although cases of new infection keep growing among the infected world population currently, most of them are in mild condition.

Among the currently 20,915,671 infected patients 20,826,800 are in mild condition, which is 99.6 per cent, Worldometer records in its daily updates.

On the other hand, 88,871 of the currently infected patients are in serious condition, and their percentage is only 0.4.

So far, 68,681,443 people have recovered.

In Bangladesh, 11 more Covid-19 patients died in the last 24 hours as of Wednesday, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 8,608.

Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 5,62,752 as 1,865 new cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours.
