Global coronavirus infections exceed 124mn

The global death count from the novel coronavirus infection reached 2,733,380 as of Wednesday morning, according to the Centre for System Science and Engineering of Johns Hopkins University.

Moreover, 124,124,997 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed around the world.

Although cases of new infection keep growing among the infected world population currently, most of them are in mild condition.

Among the currently 21,223,608 infected patients 21,132,274 are in mild condition, which is 99.6 per cent, Worldometer records in its daily updates.

On the other hand, 91,334 of the currently infected patients are in serious condition, and their percentage is only 0.4.

So far, 70,413,229 people have recovered.

In Bangladesh, 18 more Covid-19 patients died in the last 24 hours as of Tuesday, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 8,738.

Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 5,77,241 as 3,554 new cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours.
