Global coronavirus death toll reaches 2,766,824

The global death count from the novel coronavirus infection reached 2,766,824 as of Saturday morning, according to the Centre for System Science and Engineering of Johns Hopkins University.

Moreover, 126,026,603 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed around the world.

Although cases of new infection keep growing among the infected world population currently, most of them are in mild condition.

Among the currently 21,757,736 infected patients 21,665,275 are in mild condition, which is 99.6 per cent, Worldometer records in its daily updates.

On the other hand, 92,461 of the currently infected patients are in serious condition, and their percentage is only 0.4.

So far, 71,409,593 people have recovered.

In Bangladesh, 33 more Covid-19 patients died in the last 24 hours as of Friday, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 8,830.

Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 5,88,132 as 3,737 new cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours.
