World Covid-19 death toll reaches 2,777,023

Global deaths from the novel coronavirus infection reached 2,777,023 as of Sunday morning, according to the Centre for System Science and Engineering of Johns Hopkins University.

Moreover, 126,651,659 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed around the world.

Although cases of new infection keep growing among the infected world population currently, most of them are in mild condition.

Among the currently 21,925,936 infected patients 21,832,652 are in mild condition, which is 99.6 per cent, Worldometer records in its daily updates.

On the other hand, 93,284 of the currently infected patients are in serious condition, and their percentage is only 0.4.

So far, 71,739,516 people have recovered.

In Bangladesh, 39 more Covid-19 patients died in the last 24 hours as of Saturday, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 8,869.

Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 591,806 as 3,674 new cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours.
